In the heart of Kvadraturen, surrounded by historic buildings and bustling streets, Kirkegata 17 has welcomed a new offering for businesses seeking a central and flexible workspace. House of Business provides modern office solutions in a property with roots dating back to the 17th century.

From Goldsmith’s Building to Modern Workspace

Kirkegata 17 has a long history. The site was once home to Warmuthgården, a building dating back to the 17th century that housed, among other institutions, Overlærer Ulrik Møllers Institut and later the music publisher Carl Warmuth. The building was destroyed by fire in 1897, after which the property was acquired by goldsmith David-Andersen.

The current commercial building was designed by architect Harald Olsen and constructed around 1897–1898. Its red granite façades make it a distinctive feature of Kvadraturen.

Today, the property has taken on a new role as a workplace for businesses looking to combine historic surroundings with modern office solutions. It is a good example of how established commercial properties can be adapted to meet the changing needs of modern working life.

Flexible Office Solutions with House of Business

House of Business is a Norwegian serviced office provider established in 2010. The company offers furnished offices, meeting rooms and flexible workspaces, along with a range of supporting services. It caters to businesses seeking professional office facilities without having to manage all the practical arrangements themselves.

At Kirkegata 17, businesses have the opportunity to establish themselves in a historic setting, with office solutions tailored to different team sizes and needs.

A Central Address in the Heart of Kvadraturen

Location is one of the key advantages of Kirkegata 17. Kvadraturen combines a historic urban environment with an established business community, while offering easy access to public transport, restaurants, shops and other amenities.

The property is within walking distance of Stortinget metro station and Oslo Central Station, making it convenient for employees, clients and business partners to travel to and from the office. The surrounding area also offers a mix of traditional office buildings, modern workspaces and a diverse selection of places to eat and drink.

Spacefinder’s Perspective

We have visited Kirkegata 17 ourselves and came away with a very positive impression. House of Business has created a well-designed office offering, with flexible solutions for everyone from small teams of two to companies with up to 75 employees. This gives businesses the opportunity to grow and develop at the same address.
We would also highlight the well-maintained technical installations and ventilation. In older buildings, these are important features that should not be taken for granted and that have a significant impact on indoor air quality and the working environment.
